Getting off Humira Pentasa Imuran Anti-inflammatory Drugs

I used to take Pentasa(Mesalamine), anti-inflammatrory drugs. It seemed to work for awhile until I was in the first remission. When I did not know anything about food allergies, I was taking from Pentasa to Imuran and Prednesone. So it looks like if you are not taking care of underlying problems (foods and life-style), the process would be pretty much like this.
Even surgeries wouldn't fix any underlying problems. If you are not getting better, then you are doing something wrong. It would be great if you can get to remission period, so you can try experimenting with foods and work-out. If you are nearing remission period, keep taking the medicine.

Brief Explanation of Crohn's Disease In Korean (크론씨병에 대한 짧은 고찰)

간단히 말씀드리면 크론씨병은 대장뿐만이 아니라 소장에 걸쳐 악성염증이 생기는 병입니다
증세가 심각해지면 대장기관을통해 여러장기에 퍼집니다.
정말 위급상황에는 수술이 불가피하지만 절제수술을 한다고 근본적인 치료가 되는게 아니구요.
대장내시경과 조직검사를 해야 크론씨병인지 진단이 되구요.,
대장성증후군이랑은 차원이 다른 심각한병이죠.
크론씨병이 어느정도 심각한정도일때 섬유질과 유산균이 들어간 음식은 절대 피해야합니다.
원인도 정확히 모르고 치료법도 정확히 나와있지않습니다
그저 약만 꾸준히 먹으면 낫는다는 식으로 나와있는데 이는 전혀 사실과 다릅니다
크론씨병은 면역력의 이상(면역력이 너무세서 대장에있는 좋은 박테리아까지 공격하면서생기는이상)이라고도 하고 백신항생제등 몸에 박테리아(좋거나 나쁘거나)를 죽이는 약 때문이라고도 하고 서양의학에서도 결론이 아직 안난상태입니다.
물론 펜타사 아사콜같은 염증억제제나 좀더강한 스테로이드제인 prednisone같은 경우는 염증을 일시나 어느정도 감소시켜 관해를 유지 할수있으니 부작용이 심하거나 면역이 생겨서 다시 염증이 재발하는경우가 많아서 운동과 식단조절이 제일 중요합니다.
저도 약으로 관해를 유지한적있었으나 길어도 6개월채 가질 못하더군요. 그러다가 나중에 깨달은게 저에게 안맞는 음식이 있다는 걸깨달았죠 대부분 맵거나 전분이 많이 들어간음식을 먹으면 안좋더군요. 그래서 식단조절로 3개월정도 해서 약이 필요없더군요. 지금 가끔 식단 조절해가며 맘에 드는음식 먹고 약복용안하며 관해유지한지 3년이 다되가네요.

UNDERLYING PROBLEMS

TO FIX THOSE PROBLEMS SHE HAS TO ADDRESS UNDERLYING PROBLEMS (The problems that cause inflammation FOR you. This is a process and will take time to find the problem, as every case is different and this may be why is not getting relief from the doctors' remedies.

1) Diet. Unknown food allergies can be a big cause of this.
Common allergens are: gluten (wheat products), starches, milk, and fructose in fruit and processed food! For me it was rice!

2) Stress. Stress can be relieved by strong family support, Other ways can include mild excercise and stretching. Online forums help people exchange their experiences and what helped them, and then you don't feel so alone.

3) Alternative remedies: Alternative health care providers know a lot about diet and other things you can do at home, not just in the doctors office, and really take your case seriously and make it personal. Some people find help with acupuncture, and functional medicine. If cost is an issue, look for community acupuncture.

4) Research research research. Knowledge is power. The more you understand your condition and how the body works, the better you will understand how to help your heal.

Introduction to personalizing your diet

From the breaking vicious cycle website, I learned that if I had to be in a strict diet because wrong diet(even though it is supposed to be good diet for other people) made me sick. So, here is how I started the diet.

1. Start with one item. Mostly protein item.
Since I couldn't digest carbohydrate foods, I started with chicken breast.

2. If it is keep getting worse, start again with different protein item.

3. Say no to highly processed food.
Many highly processed food contains preserves, artificial flavor,modified corn starch, natural flavor ( that we don't know what it is), and things that are not natural.

4. Any starchy food will only feed your inflammation not you.
Even rice or potatoes can make you very sick if you are still trying to get to remission.

5. If milk makes you sick, then try cheese or yogurt.
Most of people with IBD have lactose intolerance, and milk contains lactose. But, naturally processed milk such as cheese( not American Cheese) and homemade yogurt are mostly lactose free. Actually cheese helped me getting constipated a little bit (which was good news for me.)

6. There are certain diets that suit for IBD patients.

Peppermint Tea

 Peppermint tea mostly helped with my specific carbohydrate diet. It contains mint that helps with stomach problems after eating too much meat. HOWEVER, important thing is that you have to start with peppermint tea but not peppermint supplements because peppermint supposed to be ingested slowly. It also because you can find it easy. I once had a few drops of peppermint oil that actually make me feel like my intestine was burning. So, when you make peppermint tea at the first time, make it very mild.
Yerba Mate is pretty good.





You can also grow your own peppermint plant, and it is very easy to grow.
